Aqua Engineering, Inc provides a variety of services related to
the evaluation and quantification of agricultural and municipal
water rights. Recent drought in Colorado has significantly
increased the number of water rights transactions, particularly in
the South Platte Basin where well augmentation is now required
before the end of 2005.
All water rights evaluations - whether for decreed change in use, plan for augmentation, value appraisal, or temporary substitute water supply plan - typically include an analysis and quantification of the historical use of the water right. Elements of the analysis include: interviews with past owners/users of the water right, inspection of aerial photography, diversion record analysis, computation of crop consumptive use, and quantification of the amount and timing of return flows. Such engineering services are performed with the expectation that all assumptions and supporting materials must be documented to the satisfaction of the Water Court and all potential objectors to the water rights application. The staff of Aqua Engineering, Inc. is prepared to defend each calculation and assumption as expert witnesses in the Water Court. |
