Aqua Engineering developed installation details for LDOT and did an analysis of the benefits of implementing centralized irrigation controls. In the final design adopted by LDOT, a wireless central control system was installed throughout the project area, which covers several miles of roadways through the busy New Orleans metropolitan area.

Aqua Engineering’s proprietary weather station interrogation software determines evapotranspiraton rates, which are passed to the control system. Additionally, high wind and rain shutdowns of the system can be affected. Each of these design components provide cost and conservation benefits.
