Engaged by the developers of the Waterglen PUD to find creative solutions to the subdivision’s irrigation needs, Aqua Engineering designed an irrigation system for all the common landscape areas as well as a delivery system for the irrigation of individual lots.

The system maximizes the use of well water. Using this alternative source of raw water has reduced the demand on the potable water supply. Unique to the project’s design is a pumping system created from several wells that were manifolded together and a raw water delivery network that uses a hydraulic modeling technique.

At the point of delivery for each residential lot a ľ inch connection is being used. The smaller connection size has reduced the cost of the irrigation systems for homeowners.

Aqua Engineering, Inc. has designed and seen successful implementation of many raw water systems. There is a benefit of utilizing raw or agricultural water, when available, to minimize potable water use for landscape irrigation. Pump stations, water storage facilities, delivery structures, measurement flumes and weirs, as well as the irrigation systems themselves are a part of these raw water systems.
