Aqua Engineering conducted the Union Ditch Irrigation Company well augmentation plan, which is a state required application that allows for the pumping of tributary ground water from the South Platte River.

Tasks performed included inventory of Company wells, investigations of farm characteristics including crop type and irrigated area, analysis and mapping in GIS, and computer modeling in a farm water budget and ground flow computer program.

Development of the augmentation plan included collaboration with well owners and Company board of directors as well as legal counsel and State Engineer’s Office employees.

Additional work completed as part of this scope included an analysis of Company owned water rights as well as the development of a feasibility plan for implementing a ground water recharge program.
