Aqua Engineering was contracted to design a 20 CFS diversion structure for a ranch adjacent to Fountain Creek. Existing conditions were surveyed as an initial step, and Aqua Engineering completed all hydraulic calculations to ensure that the gate would open properly.

In addition to the design, main guidelines are being developed for the working diversion structure.

High water in Fountain Creek served to be a temporary obstacle in the construction process, but Aqua Engineering quickly gave modification recommendations to the design. The construction has a probable cost of $35,000 for the improvements.

The design was prepared per the National Engineering Handbook and Colorado NRCS Standard Construction Specifications.
